Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 22, 2026
One Plata ("we," "this site," oneplata.com) is a plain-language publication about US money systems. This policy explains what information the site collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect very little, we sell nothing, and anything a third party does here is disclosed below.
Information you give us
If you email hello@oneplata.com, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply and to improve the site (for example, fixing an error you report). We don't add you to marketing lists, and we don't share your messages except as required by law. Please don't send sensitive personal information such as account numbers or Social Security numbers.
Information collected automatically
Like nearly all websites, the servers that deliver oneplata.com may automatically log basic technical data: your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit, and the time of your visit. These logs are used for security and to keep the site working, not to identify you personally.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. One Plata's own pages do not require cookies to function. However, third-party services described below may set cookies when they operate on this site. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time; the site will still work.
Analytics
We may use a web analytics service to understand aggregate traffic — which articles are read, roughly where visitors come from, and what devices they use. Analytics data is viewed only in aggregate and is used to decide what to explain next. If an analytics provider is in use, it may set its own cookies and process data under its own privacy policy.
Third-party advertising and Google AdSense
One Plata may display advertising served by third-party networks, including Google AdSense. You should know how that works:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising from Google by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of many third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting aboutads.info.
- Ad networks operate under their own privacy policies. Google describes how it uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Advertising never affects editorial content on this site. One Plata does not accept payment for coverage, does not publish sponsored posts presented as explainers, and does not use affiliate links.
Links to other sites
Articles link heavily to official sources — government sites such as the CFPB, IRS, FDIC, SSA, and FTC — and occasionally to other third parties. Those sites have their own privacy practices; this policy covers only oneplata.com.
Children's privacy
This site is written for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Data retention and security
Email correspondence is kept only as long as needed to handle it. Server logs rotate on a routine schedule. No website can promise perfect security, but we minimize what's collected in the first place — the best-protected data is data that was never gathered.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights to access or delete personal information a site holds about you. Since the only personal information we're likely to hold is email you sent us, the simplest path is to write to hello@oneplata.com and ask; we'll honor deletion requests promptly.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes — for example, when advertising or analytics services are added or removed — the new version will be posted here with an updated date.
